IN OCTOBER, 2014, TWO TERRIBLE TORNADOES RIPPED THROUGH THE TWIN CITIES DESTROYING THE TRANSMISSION TOWER AND CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE KMCT/MY 39 STUDIO. FORTUNATELY, THERE WERE NO SEVERE INJURIES. HOWEVER, THE DAMAGE HALTED THE PRODUCTION AT THE STUDIO. THROUGH THE PARTNERSHIP WITH ME TV IN WEST MONROE, MY 49 WAS ABLE TO BROADCAST ON A LIMITED BASES.
THE NEW TOWER HAS BEEN ERECTED AND KMCT 39 HAS RESUMED THEIR REGULAR BROADCASTING SCHEDULE.
